Please note this course is not intended
to train managers to be ‘qualified workplace mediators’.
This course provides an introduction to mediation and
focuses on the development of relevant introductory
skills that managers can use in their day-to-day work.
This course will equip participants with skills relevant
for informal mediation and conflict resolution.
If you are interested in raising awareness about
mediation within your workplace we recommend the

Methods Used
Case
study, small group work, facilitated exercises and
feedback to facilitate learning. The teaching style is
highly experiential. The best way to is by doing it.
Accordingly, participants will spend approximately 40%
of their time in role plays, and lectures are mixed with
exercises. Feedback from participants will reinforce the
value of the role plays.
Three themes recur throughout the lectures and role
